Thursday thoughts...

I had an ego buster...my painting "Rosa" was NOT accepted into the Pennsylvania Watercolor International show. I am a little shocked to be honest. This is hand-drawn and no white paint and transparent watercolor.  I have to remember is it simply someones opinion BUT...


And life goes on... today I have 2 cat scans and I will not get a small painting done.  So... if you regularly read my blog you know I randomly offer a free original from my older stock.

Health Update: Monday was my (scope) surgery.  We got the best news we could hope for so far. Surgeon saw ONLY scar tissue!! Said he must wait for biopsy to come back. There is a good chance surgery will NOT be needed. I am still VERY burned internally, which is what charred the tumor. It is possible a Hyperbaric oxygen chamber may be the only way to heal it.  I have to have a negative biopsy and insurance ok and then I will be starting that.  More info to follow.    I have 2 cat scans on Thursday and a surgeon appt on 9/13.  At that point a finalized plan going forward. Thank you all for your support and prayers.

I did cancel my Pittsburgh show (A Fair in the Park) for next week.  I felt it would be too much with driving 4 hours, set up, show 3 days, break down and drive home 4 hours.  I really wanted to try it but Linda felt it was unwise.  This is a show I enjoy so I'm a little sad.

Health Update:  Monday I am having outpatient surgery.  They are going to look around, do some measurements and a biopsy so prayers are requested!  Updates to follow...

What attracts me the most in this farm scene is the reflection in the water.

After attending a family wedding this past weekend in Wrightsville PA we drove around the Marietta area looking for subjects.  Love the stonework on this building.

We spent a few days last week in Ocean City NJ with friends and travel buddies. We had a little birthday celebration for our friend Betsy at La Fontana, excellent meal. The rest of the time was filled with games and good food and laughter. One hot day we did an underground mini golf. Thank you to this group for all their love and support.

On the way home we made a special stop in Kennett Square., PA  This fantastic sub shop is owned by the parents of Lititz clients.  One of my blessing meals came from here and I wanted to check it out.

This print has a certain magic. It features an extraordinary dance between the cool shadows inside and the warm sunlight outside. There is a feeling of being immersed in history. You are placed inside, standing in the shadows. You sense the cool dampness and you notice the patina on the worn floorboards. Looking out, your gaze catches the bright leggy geraniums. Soaking in the sunshine, you ponder what lies beyond the "Alley Walkway".

Health Update: Thursday was my surgeon appointment.
He started the exam but stopped due to extreme radiation burns inside.    

The next step is 8/28 I will go to Lancaster General hospital and be put under. He will do a thorough extensive exam, measurements and biopsy’s.

This will determine if there is still cancer, If there is enough room for a surgery reconnect or if I will need surgery for a permanent bag or if we can do nothing but extensive monitoring for a few years.  For the next 2 weeks I plan to show at The Craft Show, go to the beach with friends for 4 days and attend a wedding and simply not think ahead!  Continued prayers are appreciated.

The BIG Lititz Rotary Craft Show.

I am in my usual space B4 on the square (Broad Street) in front of the entrance to the Sutter's Courtyard.

Health Update: Tuesdays Oncology appointment went well.  He felt I did better than he hoped and he got me as far as he could.  The MRI showed nothing there!  There will be no more chemo or radiation.  Currently there is a 70% chance of it coming back.  He is handing me off to the surgeon on Thursday to discuss the next steps.  Decisions to make about surgery.  At the moment I have NO restrictions.  I may have a glass of wine and I may ride my bike (IF I can sit in the saddle!!)  The surgeon may have something different to say...
