Friday check in

It has been hard to squeeze in painting the last few days.
Thursday we went to Chestnut Hill, PA to visit a client who
has been buying my work since 1988!  Had a nice lunch and
returned home in time to pick up my father-in-law and honor
his request for steak at Texas Roadhouse.  This is how you
celebrate 82 years!  It is the only time he has sat in a saddle
with or without a horse!

If you are looking for a place to donate some cash,
maybe your tax refund... I suggest Lumina.
The executive director is a client of mine and hearing
all they do for Lancaster City it is a worthy cause....

Today I rode my bike 23 miles, packed the van
and next is set up for my weekend show.

You can find me here on Saturday:

North Penn Select Craft Show
Held at North Penn HS ~ Lansdale, PA
9:30am to 4:30pm
Excellent quality show!

Not much painting going on today, unloaded the van,
helped my brother-in-law with some drywall, took a
bike ride... I will paint tonight.
Meanwhile, Linda was getting framing together and
informed me we have only 5 Hope prints left and then
the edition of 450 is sold out.  So if you wanted one you
better not wait!

checking in...

I did not have time to paint today.  I had a new morning class
with 6 students.  3 beginners and 3 at various stages so I was
hopping!  Then it was time to pack the van for my next show.
While packing I noticed it was in great need of a bath so I
washed the van.  I may get to paint tonight but I want to finish
the drawing for my next large painting, a fantastic vase of
tulips on a table that a Facebook friend took and gave me
permission to paint.  I may try to show the progression as
a demonstration...

I did finish this at last weekends show.  I am loving my
Italian landscapes.  The sunlight and colors are so different
than in the US.  Love the patterns.

2016 Still Life #3

5"x 5" miniature original watercolor  SOLD!
2016 Still Life #3
Available to the first email or call at only
$125 (unframed)
If unsold by 3/4 the price goes to $250

I discovered this hobnail vase in the church social hall the other
week in Cumberland MD.  I changed the view out the window.
I find subjects everywhere, I am always looking for light.

Art News: This week I have six snow make up classes so that is
keeping me busy. Another good reason for me to dislike snow.
I will be showing in Lincroft, NJ this Saturday.  For 30+ years I
exhibited at the CBA art show, and always did very well. It was
a huge fundraiser for the school.  To show how things are
changing: last year they dropped the art show and had a casino
night...  I have so many clients in the area that I am going to
try their craft show this year.  Just won't be the same.

Home News: 13 days till track starts!!  Woo hoo!!!
Got myself a new pair of track cover ups.  I am ready.
We are on pins and needles waiting for my niece to deliver
a baby...  waiting... waiting.

checking in...

We took off a few days for some fun before our hectic show
schedule starts.  We spent the weekend with friends.
Linda found a VRBO cottage in Nemacolin in Farmington
PA.  which was about 1/2 way for everyone to travel.
Friday lunch was spent at Out of the Fire (we ate here once
before) fantastic mushroom soup!  Our evening was spent
at the cottage laughing and eating.  Saturday we drove about
45 minutes to Cumberland MD and took a really good tour
of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.  They have three fantastic
Tiffany windows, a good overview about Fort Cumberland
and the churches role in the underground railroad and a walk
through their underground tunnels.  Loved it, good guide.
Then lunch at Puccini.  Another good meal.  The afternoon
was spent looking at the artwork in Nemacolin.  Again we
were treated to lots more Tiffany and Waterford chandeliers
and more!  Back to the cottage for more laughing and eating.
Sunday we checked out and had a really fantastic breakfast
(are you seeing a theme here!!)  at  Maywood Grill.  Then back
home. So if you find yourself in the Laurel Highlands of PA there
is lots to do!
A camera cannot do justice to a Tiffany window.

I was looking through my Italy photos and

Painting looks better than it photographed.

I had a super busy morning class with 10 students.
Then Linda and I ran a few errands.  We had lunch
in New Holland at Jims Specialty Hoagies which I

highly recommend.  Home to paint and a class tonight.
