The lightship Chesapeake...
Another painting from our weekend trip
to Inner Harbor. I am not a boat painter
and have a limited knowledge about boats
but I could not miss these reflections. The
late afternoon sun created this wonderful
reflection in the water that I just had to
paint.
Below is the finished painting I was working
on over the weekend. If you spent time
watching its progress I must tell you I worked
on it about five more hours at home. This is
a chapel on the campus of Simon's Rock College
in the Berkshires. We attended a special wedding
there and while waiting for guests to arrive
the chapel offered a warm spot on a cold day.
The sun was streaming through the stained
glass and cast amazing colors on the wall and
over the pews.

The reflections on the water are magnificent, Andy. I have to tell you that the pews in the chapel are extraordinary. That stained glass and its shadow are superb. I think this is a favorite of mine!
I thought I would be the first to comment on your blog. Your work is excellent and as a fellow artist I wanted to reach out to you and tell you that you are one of the very few artists I've stumbled across whose work doesn't bore me to death.
1) AutumnLeaves: I always appreciate your kind words. You have the talent but I think your fustration comes from not sticking to one medium long enough to understand and master it. By bouncing around it appeals to your vast creative side but then you are unable to have these marvelous break throughs in one medium...the talent is there its the constant practice that might be missing. I wish you were closer so I could help you tweek your watercolors, you have the foundation you just need a boost...These are meant as kind words of encouragement, so go paint!!
Allen - thank you, I am glad you are not bored with my work! I love the variety of subjects and I hope I pass my love of painting on to my viewers. I love watercolor and most of the time I love painting.
