New older paintings...

We recently attended an auction and bought back four paintings from an estate. A really great collection of shaker still life paintings.   There is a long wonderful story but we will save that for another time. They all now have fresh new mats and frames and awaiting a new special home.  One was already sold.

38 days till my annual Open House!  I am currently painting larger pieces. This week is a little hectic. Renew our Passports on Tuesday afternoon, dental cleaning on Wednesday and  bloodwork and an internal on Thursday.  I am hoping to get at least one mini painted...  Expecting to proof the new prints and to proof the invitation sometime this week.

Sunflower!

Had fun getting mums and pumpkins today. A little festive decorating.

We had a very good show at Waterford, VA. A day set up and 3 long days of showing.  Got home today at 2pm and we both went right into the studio to work 4 more hours! Ahhh, the life of the self-employed!

This Saturday is my last show for the season (other than my Annual Open House in November).  Plan on coming out, its FREE!



I had to demonstrate all weekend.  I finished and SOLD this 6x6" pumpkin.

Update..

Open House Update:  My annual Open House is less than 8 weeks away!  

Save the date: November 21-23 and the 2nd date we are open is November 28-30  The difference is there is no wine and snacks and hopefully half the paintings are sold!

I am painting like a crazy man and Linda is in concentrated work mode, not in panic mode, that comes later!  I would say laser focused.  Stuff is getting done.
Two new Prints are chosen and are at the printer.  I will show them later.  The New Holiday print is chosen and at the other printer.   Invites are being designed.  Piles of mats are being cut.  Lots of framing is happening.

I have two more shows.  We are heading to Waterford Fair on Wednesday.  Hoping the hurricane stays way south!  Set up on Thursday and show the weekend.  This show requires colonial dress (Linda's favorite)

Linda had a vase of sunflowers and I pulled on out and laid it among out antiques. Created a nice still life.

Friday night our group of  9 friends met for dinner at Folino Estate Winery in Kutztown PA.  The views were beautiful, The wine was good, excellent food and GREAT company.

Starting a sunflower series...

ANOTHER ONE FINISHED...

Scotland...what a view.  What a challenge to paint.

I also finished a wonderful sunflower that is a strong contender for this years new print.  I am starting option #2 later today.  Then Linda will make a decision.  We need to be at the printer by the 1st of October.  Open house is sneaking up fast!

Wednesday...

I finished my small commission yesterday, a gift so I cannot show it. Now, I am back to the larger painting I started last weekend. This has been a very very slow build of a complicated Scottish landscape.

Another finished painting...

We got home at 8:30pm Sunday night from showing at Ludwigs Corner. Had a good show, blessed to stay with our friend Joan AND Linda had dinner twice at her fav...Limoncello! Two big long shows back to back weekends show our age! Today, I unloaded the van, took a bike ride, and had a visit from friends.  I am attempting to finish the painting from the weekend. I may not get a mini painting done till Wednesday.

Meanwhile...At the Pittsburgh show I was demonstrating this painting. I worked on it all last week.

FINISHED!   This will be framed 18x24 and available at my Open House in November. I am super happy with the way it turned out.
