Several new mini paintings...

After a lot of friends and family get together's I am now concentrating on painting miniature paintings for my March Mini Show.   Here are my first 4 of the year.  They are framed in a black wood frame but you may choose walnut if you want.  They also look so much better when you see them.

2020 Still Life #1  8x10"  $225.  This is from an antique shop, to Linda's chagrin I include the price tags!

2020 Seascape #1  10x8"  $225.     I am working on better clouds... much harder than you can imagine, I save the white of the paper and paint the dark, an oil painter can just add the white to the top.  I struggle with getting puffy clouds, they tend to get pointy.  Yes, even after 40 years I still need to practice.

2020 Landscape #2 10x8"   $225.  This scene is near Chester Springs PA.  Love playing with shadows and night time light.

Thank you to everyone who helped make my 2019 a successful year.  I am always grateful for the privilege of being able to paint for a living.   I feel like a truly blessed man.  I wish everyone a healthy and happy 2020!

If you have always wanted to learn to paint I am teaching a beginner class on Thursdays.  This is a step by step hands on class.  Week 1 is a fruit, Week 2 is a still life, Week 3 a landscape and  Week 4 a seascape.  After this class you are ready to paint on your own and join any other class!
BEGINNER CLASS - you need some watercolor supplies!
this is a hands on structured class.

I had a blast painting this one.  Love the reflection in the transom, love my favorite fruit sitting up there.  Great shadows.  Anyone in Lititz recognize this door? If this does not sell, Linda is planning to hold it for next years Holiday print.

Another painting from Emmaus PA.  I took some artistic licence and added a moon and lights on in the house.

Last night we had a wonderful family and friends dinner at the Log Cabin.  This starts off our Holiday celebrating.  Grocery shopping done today and it looks like we will be spending time in the kitchen!

We found this while walking the streets in Historic Bethlehem PA.  The green against the white door is striking and the red bow just pops.  But I rather like the door handle!


This was a friends weekend for us... trying to squeeze as much time with friends as we can while on break from showing.  Linda has been experimenting with deserts she is interested in serving over three get-togethers we have coming up.  So, taste testing HAS to be done.  Last week was an Apple Carmel Roll which I loved but the others voted only ok.  This week we had a key lime pie, the pie got great reviews but the crust was a no!  Next she made a Butterfinger Creme Brulee which was hands down on the YES list!  We are binge watching The Crown with the Hildebrand's who are also our taste testers.  Been fun.  We are now at season 3.   We also spent a few hours with our friends the Woodruffs, had lunch at Rachels Creperie reminiscing about our trip to France.  The crepes are not quite like the French ones but a good substitute.  Linda is finally getting a little time to read and she has a 1000 piece Santa puzzle out on the table.  I am stuck riding my rollers inside because it is just too cold for me to be out!  Now you are up to date... more fun scheduled for this week...
