Goodbye Winter!

Since I have not been able to paint the past few days I am doing a
"GOODBYE WINTER" theme.
Featuring some paintings you may have missed that are still available.
We will start big...this is a favorite of Lindas, a fantastic painting.
"Historic Beauty"    Framed: 20x24"     $3800.
This is an original watercolor painting

Next I am offering 3 mini originals...

"Landscape #7"      $225.        framed: 10x7"

"Landscape  #10"  $225.   framed 8x10"

sold!   "Bird #2"        $225.         framed 8x10"
A female cardinal eating seeds on the snow.

And finally a print!

"Sutters Courtyard"              Print only: $65
Framed: $135.   20x23"
Fresh snow now covers the quiet idyllic courtyard of the General Sutter Inn located in Andy Smiths hometown of Lititz, Pennsylvania. This easily overlooked corner captured his artistic eye. He was drawn to the contrast of falling white snow against the old brick and the tranquil foliage. A detailed landscape with the feeling of motion while leaving you with a lingering impression of stillness.
There are plans to totally upscale this courtyard!

You may purchase on my website or send an email.

updates...

I finished my Sunflower commission, client loves it!

Keep me in mind if you want something special painted.

i had NO time to paint today.  But so many Updates to give you!

Blessing update: Some fabulous pumpkin bread was dropped off by John & Bonnie. Yes, I ate some before I took a photo! I couldn't wait, I had this before so I knew what I had!

Andy Walkers Update: I had so many volunteers they wanted to start right away.
Before I was mentally ready!
Friday was George M...  We met when our daughters were in Middle School track (I was coaching) We watched our kids grow up. I talked George into riding bicycle with me and we have been in the same Men's Prayer Group about 20 years. A good friend.

Saturday was Joe B...  We met in 1978 while Linda was working at Doneckers. We have some pretty interesting stories over the years.   We went to a party in  Reinholds PA, at the time I don't think anyone there ever saw a black man, someone started the rumor I was  Curt Warner (
Considered the NFL's greatest undrafted player )  I looked nothing like him but we did NOT correct them!   We rode bikes together and had a few crashes together! The kind of guy I can call anytime I need something.

Sunday I THOUGHT was going to be my day of rest... NO!
John C... was my walker. His wife is one of my watercolor students and I met him through her. He also rides bikes!

See a little pattern here? (bike!) All three walks offered great varied conversation and, don't tell Linda but I have actually been enjoying it.

Health Update: Well I hit a bump in the road today. I was scheduled for an infusion however my blood pressure spiked to 203/110.  They tried IV lasix (diuretic) to bring it down and it did NOT work. We packed up and I had to rush to the ER.   OK so here is a chuckle... I had so much lasix I had to tinkle every few minutes. Linda had to pull over in Lancaster city on the way to the ER and I peed in some bushes. Looked like a homeless man!  But I was DESPERATE!!  That was pretty funny!   ER did nothing, upped my BP med and said to call the family DR. . Appt 930 tomorrow
IF it goes down I am infused on Wed, disconnect on Friday but toxic till Monday, throws off all the upcoming weeks. Throws off my walkers schedule.  We will adjust...

2023 Landscape #2

SOLD!  $155. (unframed) 4X6” mini original watercolor

Available to the 1st person to email
(framing 4X6 - $35 - shipping available at cost)
If unsold by 2/25 the price goes to $250

This little landscape is on the grounds of Stratford Hall, birthplace of Robert E Lee.

Blessing update:  We had so much fun unpacking this wonderful basket.  THANK YOU Pat & Rich!

Health Update:  I am not allowed to ride my bike, unless I ride slow! SLOW???  My heart rate may not go over 100 due to the meds in my chemo.  It is suggested I walk, I HATE to walk.  To help make it palatable Linda suggested volunteer "Andy Walkers" (I am feeling a little like a dog that needs walked daily but she is trying to put a spin on it!)  She was thinking someone new each of my "good week" days.    You need to be able to walk 1.5 to 3 miles at a semi-slow conversation pace, remember not to get my heart rate up, evidently the purpose is some small exercise and lots of fresh air.  The bonus for Linda is I am out of the house!    I am competitive, so you need to help reign me in.  You need to be able to Chit-Chat to distract me from the actual walking!  Coffee and snacks along the way are optional as long as there are no crowds of people when we stop!    A bonus  would be to keep an eye out for new painting subjects while walking and take photos.  I am available dawn to dusk!   I thought we could take a photo of my "walker" and I together and maybe post it with a short "how you know Andy" story...  just thinking outside the box!   So if I have you excited about the idea, send an email to sign up!  My next dates would be 3/5 through 3/12. (Unless I can talk Linda into going away for a few days!)

2023 Snow Geese #2

 mini original watercolor  $250.

I wanted to do one more!!  Middle Creek.

Studio Update: I am working on a new sunflower commission.  14x14" Here is my drawing.

Evidently we needed more excitement in the Smith household.  Last night at 3am Linda woke up and thought she heard an odd noise, so she comes downstairs to investigate and walks into 2" of water in the studio.  Yells for me...  I run upstairs to our almost finished, ready to rent apartment to another 2" of water and a busted pipe under the kitchen sink.  We shop vac'd till 5am.  Then today called our insurance company and Complete Restoration came out immediately. We lost about 30 prints and some originals have wet mats. We currently have fans running on all floors.  Waiting for results of asbestos.  At least it is my "good" week!

Blessing update: In all that's going on, Blessings still come our way!  I was SO hungry for an apple pie and one just shows up! THANK YOU John for thinking of me while you are out sightseeing in NJ and stopping at Delicious Orchards, a favorite.

Thank you Lynne for a paper bouquet of daffodils, so cool! Thank you Claire for the CD. I think Linda would have preferred to have seen the show live but a CD is second best!

My Tuesday outing; walk and fresh air (as much as you can get with a mask on!) was spent at Middle Creek.  Seeing all the Snow Geese is an incredible sight and worth the drive.  It inspired me to come right home and paint them.  A sea of white on the water and the noise... Click here for a live cam

A beautiful waterlily would make a perfect gift for Valentines Day!

House Update: Abbey went home Friday evening after spending all week with us.   Rashetta was here half the week,  I enjoyed watching the girls work on a puzzle each evening.  Laughter filled the house.  We spent all of Saturday working on our 2nd floor apartment.  I am helping while I can!  I finished emptying out the attic, swept it, carried the spare carpet/flooring/ceiling tiles up.  Linda primed the new drywall and worked on the little enclosed porch.  Getting closer to renting.  So I will start putting this out there.  Beautiful 2nd floor, 1 bedroom apartment perfect for 1 quiet older person. New stove and fridge, fresh paint, new carpet and flooring,  has a stackable w/d, Central air,  Heat included. Street parking,  No pets.  rent: $1000. We are being very careful renting it,  the person is living where we live!

Health Update:  Monday morning is my 2nd Chemotherapy treatment and bloodwork.

I am continuing with a Valentine flower thought...

Health Update: I am thrilled to report I am feeling OK.  I had one day of fatigue and brain fog and that's it.  I rode outside 1x and inside on rollers 2x and took a 1.5 mile walk.  I am doing my exercises, eating small meals often, drinking my 64oz of water and gargling with awful stuff 4x a day.  I am also using plastic (silver) ware to eat with, someone told me it helps with the metallic taste.  So maybe I am heading off some issues but feeling very grateful.

I want to give a HUGE thank you to all the food and gifts pouring in.  With some extra duties falling on Linda it is nice she has not had to cook.  Our fridge looks like a smorgasbord and I am grazing my way through it!  Nothing is going to waste.  So THANK YOU all.  I have also received some treasured gifts.

This BEAUTIFUL hand painted box is from Sarah Gilligan.

A hand made copper tree from Joel Hutchinson.
His work is in Lititz Purple Robin.

A jar of uplifting sayings from Tracee & Ruth.

Plus books, blankets, another port shirt and some wild dinosaur socks!
I am so blessed, THANK YOU all.
