Vacation!

4"x 6" Original watercolor  ~  SOLD

This was from my daughters photos and
it screams solitude, peacefulness... vacation.
Beautiful blue sky and water with a nice light feel.
Makes you want to be sitting right in that chair!

Last set of classes today.  I am finished teaching
until September.  I am on a hunt for a used
suburban to replace my van.  Going to look at two
in the morning.  Track is going much better, kids
are settling in and doing well.  I am home this
weekend which will be nice after 7 shows in a row.
Don't worry I will still be painting!

2012 Still Life #7

5"x 5" original watercolor
$275  Contact the Studio
Lots of interest in this little painting.  Good
color on the crocks.  I like the little piece of
lavender on the right.  Rainy day...

I had my last Tuesday morning class until fall.
Linda is busy getting my students ready for the
exhibit.   Went to market which I love to do.
Track update: We had our first scrimmage.
My kids were excellent, I am expecting another
good year.  It is hard on them to start the season
in warm weather and now its cold and windy.
OK, maybe it's me that its harder on!

Save the date...

Mark your calendar and come see my students
work... click over it to see it better.

Again I have half my painting finished .
I am struggling with my time management!
Rode bike at 6am, breakfast at 8am.  Painted.
Then I needed to go pick up this giant stack
of 300 sheets of cardboard.  I got back in enough
time to change and go to track.  Home for a quick
dinner and had the neighbor kid help me carry
300 sheets to the basement.  Now it is 7pm.
I will paint some more but just do not want to
feel like I must rush.  Usually it is Linda who wants
more hours in her day.  I promise I will get it
together soon, did I already promise this??

2012 Still Life #6

5"x 5" miniature original
$250.  Contact the studio
It is all about angles in this one, and the stunning
blue bottle.

I had a class this morning, painted and then had
track, then home and teaching another class.
We got a call that my Mom is sick so Linda went
in to sit with her most of the day.

2012 Still Life #5

5"x 5" miniature original
 $300.  Contact the studio

Love the angles and that you only see parts
of the window, part of the chair, the edge of
the table and a tiny bit of a door handle.
Nice warm blues.
Saturdays show went OK. Up a tiny bit from
last year which is a good sign. I was unable to
paint because there was no room. Sunday I took
Linda to see "The Artist". We liked it, glad I saw it
on the big screen. Then had pizza with friends.
Monday I unloaded the van, painted all morning,
ran a few errands with Linda, track practice and
home to paint for the evening. But it got too late
to get this one finished.  So I finished it in my class
this morning.  Taught in the morning, painted, ran
to Roots Market, home in time to change and get
ready for track.  At 5:30 we are headed to Delaware
to see a client.  So the blog is going on early today.

Thursday check in

Untitled...
It feels like I have been working on this for ages.
She is a reenactor from the Shaker Village in KY.
A super nice woman who happily posed for me.
Not sure what I liked most...
her face, the folds in her dress or the window...
I need to frame, title and price it.

Packing for this weekends show.

2012 Flower Study #5

4"x 6" miniature original watercolor

Yellow!  This is one of the most unusual shaped
Orchids I saw.  Looks like a flying insect.

Linda was happily in the garden this afternoon.
I helped with a bit of clean up then was called
into my Moms with a little emergency.  She is fine
just was confused and restless.  I took her out for
a little fresh air and she calmed down.  Mom turns
90 in June.  Back home to teach an evening class
and finish my orchid.  Congrats to my new student
Jen ~ she just got her GED.  I'm proud of you!

2012 Flower Study #4

4"x 6" miniature original watercolor

Each variety is a little different.  I think the
dark background with a bit of fern makes this
one pop.  Surprisingly I am not tired of them yet!

My morning watercolor class was great as usual.
Make sure you take a moment to see my
student blog, there is some good work being done.

2012 Flower Study #3

4"x 6" miniature original watercolor ~ SOLD!

An unusual shade of blue/purple... not in my pallet
so I had to work a little harder to create it! The flower
did not photo as dark as it really is, it is even better than
it looks here.

First track meeting tonight... planning!!  I can hardly wait.

2012 Flower Study #2

4"x 6" miniature original watercolor ~ SOLD

This one took less hours to draw and paint than
yesterdays orchid.  It requires really studying the
flower and each one is different.

Packing for tomorrows show, we set up Friday
and show the weekend.
