2014 Cape May Series #4

4"x 6" Original Miniature Original Watercolor

While our January Cape May trip was chilly
the sun was out.  I am going with a bright
Cape May feeling today.

Class this morning, painting in the afternoon,
family dinner at Five Guys.  Painting again
tonight.  Just a usual day.

I am finished with the winter series.
Went with a porch scene.  Yes, the legs

on this chair were odd...
I paint um as I see um!

I have a show this weekend:

Owen J Roberts Friends of the Arts

34th Annual Craft Show
Held at Owen J Roberts H.S.
981 Ridge Rd. Pottstown, PA

Monday check in

Worked on my drawing for a new commission most
of the weekend.  We did go see "Monuments Men"
and I highly recommend it.  Very well done.
Today I had two classes to teach.  We started landscapes.
This was my demonstration piece.

Meanwhile Linda made a great dinner.  I had to take
a photo... she cooks most nights and is always trying
new things... but this... hummm
Chicken with beans, fresh spinach in a wine/chicken broth

2014 Winter Series #15

4"x 6" Original Miniature Original Watercolor
A study of blues...
Maybe a hidden meaning in that title!!

Taught a morning class, ran errands with
Linda then family dinner and teaching an evening
class.  Not much time to even think!
The snow is still getting in my way, trying
to find parking for my students!
Below is a larger painting I had started the other
week at the Art Show and finally finished.

14x18     Title suggestions welcome...

2014 Winter Series #14

5"x 5" Original Miniature Original Watercolor

It was not the snow that made me want to
paint this one... it was the moon!
You know I like moons.

We had a quiet weekend at home.  Caught
up on a few movies, (watching Netflix streaming)
"White Collar" which Linda loves.  Started
" House of Cards" and "Sherlock" both very good
series.  Today was my classes at Luther Acres,
I love that class!  Check out their work here.
Also found out I was accepted into two big shows.
Art on the Square in Belleville, IL and Columbus, OH.

Columbus had 1100 entries and I was one of 280

2014 Winter Series #13

Interesting clean, straight architectural lines
in this painting.

I got my Valentines present a little early...
What does it mean when your wife buys you
slippers??  What happened to romance?
Slippers... now they are a good quality (I am told)
"Acorns"  And I will admit after wearing them a
bit tonight I like them but... (old man) slippers
for Valentines!  I have entered a new phase of
my life.

OK... I am dreaming of blue skies and green

Teaching... all my classes are 3 hours long
in an attempt to make up missed snow hours.
Went to Roots Market for fruit and then my
eye doctor appointment.  Home for dinner and
another class tonight.  Guess I will ride my indoor
rollers again late tonight...

2014 Still Life #3

4"x 6" Original Miniature Original Watercolor

All last week I used these small pears as
demonstrations for my new students. This
is a simple study...

We had a good show in NJ this past weekend.
Starting the show season off to a very good
start.  Spent the weekend with friends and
were treated to dinner at an extremely
good restaurant... Fish in Asbury Park.
It started snowing Sunday evening within 15
minutes of leaving and by the time we got
off the NJ turnpike I could not see the lines
on the road.  So we pulled off and found a
hotel.  Had to be back on the road by 6:15am
so I could teach a class at 9am!  Two great
classes at Luther Acres.

2014 Winter Series #12

4"x 6" Original Miniature Original Watercolor

Snowman built by Emily, photo taken by Amy
(who often takes great photos that she lets
me use) and watercolor painting by... me!
OK, it was Linda's request.

It is time... my first show of the season is
this weekend. It took the week gathering all
my supplies.  Cleaned the van off enough to
get the show panels on the roof.
All packed and ready.

The Show:
CBA Art Show (Now including Antiques)
Held at the Christian Brothers Academy at
850 Newman Springs Rd.  Lincroft, NJ
Sat.  from 10 to 5
Sun. from 11 to 4

Thank you Amy for the use of your photo.
Poor crocus did not understand it is way too
soon to be blooming!

I am getting plenty of exercise  shoveling.
Don't you just hate when people park in
spots they did not help shovel...
Linda is fooling around with make up classes.
I had one brave student this morning and
am waiting to see who comes out tonight.

2014 Window

4"x 6" Original Miniature Original Watercolor

I am studying stones...

I am trying to be thankful that I got outside
on my bike yesterday.  But all the snow plus
the forecast is finally getting to me.  My two
classes at Luther Acres were cancelled, causing
issues with making them up.  I have classes here
at the house all week and parking is a mess.
Living in town you have to deal with the plows
plowing your car in every time they go by.
I live on a corner so we have a very long
walk to shovel and no place to put it.  Our first
show of the season is this weekend in NJ
and more snow is expected.  I know, I know I
am whining....
