Window # 5

original watercolor   $225.

I simply loved the light on this one.

Andy Walkers Update: Saturday was a special walker I was looking forward to.
My buddy, John H. We go back to 1978 when I was riding the train from Lancaster to Paoli (at the time I was working at my Dads body shop) and John was a young kid. I am guessing 12-13?? I was about 25. John was riding the train to school. I think John started the conversation about how much he knew about the train, and the conductor always looks out after him, he talked to me a mile a minute! He really did know all about that train. We started a special friendship that has lasted 45 years! He lives up the street from me, and we wave and chat often as he walks by, he sits with me at any local art shows. He has attended many open houses and we simply enjoy each other. He really is my buddy, and his family is also very special to me. We had a great walk, and he talked a mile a minute!!

Available to the 1st person to email
(framing 8x10 - $35 - shipping available at cost)
If unsold by 4/25 the price goes to $250.

This is from my Wednesday walk with Don, it is behind Landis Homes, Lancaster Co.

Andy Walkers Update: Laura N.C. was my Thursday walker. I cannot remember when we first met. She is a writer for the newspaper and has written articles and interviewed me often over the past 20?? years. I also coached her daughter Meg in track (who is now a mother of a daughter and triplet boys!) We walked around the Mueller House gardens, looking at the flowers.   Then through downtown and around the Lititz Spring Park. We talked flowers, art, living in Lititz and about life! She is a sweet person and a joy to walk with!

2023 Cat

Available to the 1st person to email
(framing 8x10 - $35 - shipping available at cost)
If unsold by 4/22 the price goes to $250.

This is our cat "Smudge" nicely posing for me.  This is his "will you PLEASE feed me" face! He just makes me smile,

Andy Walkers Update: My Wednesday guest walker was Don T.
I met Don and his late wife in 1997 at the Lancaster Town Fair. They started collecting my paintings and I saw them at least once a year. I love that even when you are in your late 80's you can still have a passion for art (my art!) and continue to buy and squeeze in a few more. Don has been having a few health issues recently but still wanted to walk with me, he cheated and used a scooter while I walked! We walked and scootered 3 miles on the beautiful grounds of Landis Homes. Great conversation, I learned so much about him and his life. His attitude is encouraging. I am learning a lot about aging with a good spirit. Thank you Don!

My Tuesday walk was in the woods, walked to Eagle Rock in the PA State Game Lands.
Walking 4 miles in the woods is different than 4 miles in the streets of Lititz!
I am being silly but I conquered it!

I was setting in the recliner in the sun and could not take my eyes off the way the light was laying across Linda's plants.  Had to paint it...

Andy Walkers Update: Monday my walker was Bruce W. from Lebanon, PA.  We walked 2.5 miles on the streets of Lititz.  I met Bruce (and his wife) at Porchwalk in 2004.  They have been faithful collectors for 19 years.  Just all around good people.  I enjoyed our conversation it is a  great start to my week.

2023 Window #4

mini original watercolor $225.

From the grounds of Wheatland in Lancaster PA.
I spent hours on the bricks!

Weekend Blessing update:  Home-made, beautifully wrapped Apple cake shipped all the way from CA from Geri W.   We met Geri and her husband on our Ireland bus trip and have stayed in touch!

Big THANK YOU'S to Peg T. for her still warm,  home-made Irish soda bread, beautifully wrapped in a tow.  We put half in the freezer for later!
Margie H. dropped of flowers (can't have too many flowers around!) and a gift card.
Eldonna F. Sent a Barnes & Noble gift card with the nicest note about getting lots of food so she gave food for my soul!  Loved it.
And a gift card to Panera from Marilyn H.

And John M. dropped off what feels like my monthly apple pie (2 pies, one is in the freezer!) and apple cider donuts plus soda bread and cookies from Delicious Orchards.  Thank you to everyone.

We were blessed with our daughter home for the week.  She left Saturday.  She was able to go to the Cancer center with me and be home for Chemo week.  Kept trying to push kale on me!  Kale is not appealing when you already have food issues!  It is so weird what your mouth/taste buds do when on chemo.  This week is my good week and Linda has all new walkers lined up.

2023 Landscape #14

original watercolor  $250.

This one is from my walk in Lititz,
Cedar St. & 2nd Ave.  I liked the shadows.

Health Update: I woke up with a swollen face and very tingly hands.
Today was my disconnect day and I came home and took a 4 hour nap.
No chemo week is the same...

"A" is for "APRIL" and "APPLES"

Another Apple print for "April"
"SUMMER REFLECTIONS"

$65 unframed OR $135 Framed 22x20"
You can order on line... or send an email.
Pick up at the studio or shipping available at cost

I know April is not summer but there are apples in this print! This is a beautiful print, a still life but a landscape in the background. It was from the Canterbury Shaker Village.    My favorite part is the shadows on the windowsill but check the folds on that tea towel.

Andy Walkers Update: My Sunday walker was our daughter Abbey. She is home from NYC for a week. We met in December of 1983 and she stole my heart! It has been my privilege to to watch her grow up, I could not be more proud.  We took a 3 mile walk.  It is always nice to spend time with her.

Health Update: Chemotherapy #6 was Monday and Abbey came along to keep me company. Also a thank you to the Owens family for my hand-made beanie with UCI World Championship Cycling colors!  It is keeping my head warm.  It is interesting what is happening to my hair.  My armpit hair is gone... and my nose hair is gone.  Did you know your nose hair keeps your nose from running... I mean constantly dripping with extra drip with the chemo!  Now the little hair I had on my head lost its afro kink.  It is now this thinning soft straight mess that gets cut real close so I need the hats because my head (and hands) are always cold.

CLAIMED!!   And last...because I like to see who reads my blog to the bitter end!!!
FREE to the 1st person to send an email and claim it!
If you are a past winner you are not eligible!

2023 Landscape #13

SOLD!  $155. (unframed) 5X5” mini original watercolor
Available to the 1st person to email
(framing 9x9 - $35 - shipping available at cost)
If unsold by 4/12 the price goes to $250.

This out building was from the grounds of Wheatland in Lancaster PA from my walk at the arboretum.

Andy Walkers Update: What a nice surprise, Linda schedules my walkers so I don't know who or where! Saturday I met Donnie L. and his kids for a nice walk on the Warwick trail.
Donnie was one of my track runners, obviously a long time ago. He has kept in touch, I do not know how he can be married and a father... where did that time go? He is a great nurturing father with very well behaved little children and his wife is pregnant with...triplets. I get excited seeing good men who are good involved fathers, I am very proud of him.

Blessing Update: Homemade Easter eggs from Carol W. soooo good!

2023 Landscape #12

SOLD!  155. (unframed) 6X4” mini original watercolor
Available to the 1st person to email
(framing 8x10 - $35 - shipping available at cost)
If unsold by 4/11 the price goes to $250.

This was inspired by Carol T. who allows me to use her very good photos to paint.
The barn at Winterthur in DE.

Health Update: I had an MRI last week and my tumor is shrinking!
The report says "Significant improvement in the size"!
The original length was 2.36" it is now 1.92". That is a lot in cancer talk. No changes in my care plan except a little peace of mind knowing the chemo is helping.
Monday is Chemo #6.  Keep the prayers coming!!

Andy Walkers Update: I am sorry but no photo from Fridays walk. But it was Ray B.
Linda dropped me off at his house after my bloodwork. We walked 3 miles on the beautiful sidewalks of Grandview Heights neighborhood  and then he brought me home.
Ray (and his wife) started as clients  back in 1994 and we became friends. Now my best story is in 1999 our daughter Abbey was 16 with a driving permit. Teaching her to drive (a stick) was not going well. So Ray (who was a policeman at the time) volunteered to take her out. He shows up (Abbey was clueless, poor kid) and he tells her " come on we are heading out for a drive" She had to be panicked. He takes her into Lancaster City for some city driving (wow) I think they were also on the busy route 30 (for some speed driving)  they were gone for what felt like forever. But she had all the skills she needed by the time she got home. I think she thought we were the worst parents.
As per Abbey... Who hires a policeman to teach their kid to drive...
29 years later we are still friends, watched each others child grow up, shared many travel stories and several meals.  Their support means a lot.

One more thing... we decided since the apartment and studio are torn up from the major water leak we would go ahead and update the heating/air conditioning on both floors. Major work with separate needs. We settled on Evergreen Heating. Co-owners Charlie and Cameron, two young guys own the business. (they seem very young to my older age!  But have a great work ethic and eager to work)  They were great to work with, they know their stuff, they worked with Linda until they had the best possible plan for our old house. The top floor is finish, they were on time, respectful of the new carpet and freshly painted wall, they cleaned up behind themselves.  They are super nice young men and we HIGHLY recommend them. (tell them I sent you!)

Andy Walkers Update: I love this man... Dr. Robert H.!   He took watercolor classes with me years ago when he was dealing with major health issues. We grew a friendship. He may be the most brilliant man I know. He is teaching me how to walk through my health journey and answers my questions with honesty. We can talk on any subject! He has a dry sense of humor (which Linda loves), he is musically talented, well read, caring and again, brilliant.
He always asks Linda... And what did you do for FUN this week.
We walked 2 miles with stimulating conversation!

Blessing update: Thank you to Trish & Jerry L. for last nights meal, snacks and flowers!

These over the top balloons were delivered from my dentist office!
Thank you to my dentist and friend Dr. Berstecher and his kind staff!

2023 Landscape #11

mini original watercolor   $250

This is a farm from Strasburg, PA

Andy Walkers Update: My Wednesday walkers are special to me. Hamzah & Tinishia. Both were my Middle School track runners that have stayed in touch and I have been able to watch grow into wonderful hardworking successful adults. Hamzah is special to me, I love this kid and am very proud of him! He is a successful Realtor in Lititz and recently the new owner of Greco's Icecream, a staple in Lititz.

They took me to Louise Arnold Tanger Arboretum in Lancaster, I never knew this was even here.  It was only about a mile walk but we listened to the history on our phone while strolling and chatting.  This place is a gem.  Loved my time with both of these special people.

This doggy in the window was from my walk in Strasburg PA.

Andy Walkers Update: This is my walking week!  Monday walker was Jerry L.  His first scheduled walk was cancelled due to rain, but today the sun was out.
We go back to when our kids were in Middle school and I was coaching track.  We share many school functions and proms, some dinners together and an easy friendship.  I tried to get Jerry to ride bike with me over the years and was afraid the walking might be pay back, (he's a walker)!   We had great conversation and the 6 miles flew by!!  Sorry for the confused look on my face, I am not always good with selfies!
