Health Update: I had a good night, slept well and a good day. I have been eating small amounts all day and drinking my 64oz of water. So far the worse thing is the mouth rinse I need to use (Seriously, baking soda and salt in 8 oz of water)  tastes awful, it better keep the mouth ulcers away!!    Its 6PM on Tuesday and so far I have had NO side effects.  My anti-nausea med in my IV is out of my system late tonight so things may change.  But I am ready for whatever comes my way.  Wednesday at 11am my IV is disconnected.   I am free until the 13th when I start all over.   I am allowed visitors however masks are required.  This is also the perfect time to say THANK YOU for all the meals and soups that are showing up.  Nothing is going to waste and it is giving Linda a cooking break.  It is nice to open the fridge to a variety of snacks and meals!  I am feeling the LOVE!

Health Update:

Here I am getting my 1st Chemotherapy treatment.  Sporting a new hat to keep my head warm.  A new "blankie" which is becoming my new best friend and a new "port" shirt, who knew these existed!  I then came home with a bag of more IV meds hooked to my port.  Sleeping should be interesting.  So far no issues.  I got home and painted an hour and then took a nap.  Waiting to see what my side effects will be is harder then everything so far.

I am starting the week off with a male cardinal.

In the Studio:  I am sad to report that I needed to back out of the Lititz Fire and Ice Show held in February.  It is unwise for me to be in an enclosed space with lots of people.  I plan to continue to paint as I feel up to it, I was told I can bring my paints to my chemotherapy infusion days.   Since I am not out at shows, remember you can still follow this blog for painting updates and make purchases on my website!  I am thanking you for your continued support!!

Health Update:  So much has happened since my health announcement on the 16th.  I have been blessed to be moved into the system at lightening speed.  In only 14 days I have met with my oncologist, a radiologist, and a surgeon, had bloodwork, had my chemotherapy education meeting, and  had mediport surgery. I now have a clear diagnosis.  Stage 3 Rectal Cancer.  I have a plan!  I am going to the  Ann B Barshinger Cancer Institute, which is a fantastic place to be, I am impressed how kind and professional everyone is.  Monday the 30th at 9:30am I have a wicked cocktail of meds (chemotherapy) into my port for 5 hours.  I also go home with more in a pump.  Wednesday I am disconnected!  Hopefully by Friday I will feel human again.  Then I get a week off and start all over  for several months.  Next will be radiation and then surgery.  I have a long haul!  The result will be "CURED"!
What I need from you is prayers, that I handle the Chemotherapy (don't get tooooo sick)  and that the tumor shrinks and I finish cured.  Remember to be patient with any orders!

Life gave me some Lemons...

 DEAR CLIENTS and FRIENDS,
I have just been recently diagnosed with colon cancer. Trust me, I was not expecting that news either!   I was having some digestive issues (but no pain) and a colonoscopy last week confirmed that there is a rectal tumor causing these issues.  Over the past whirlwind of a week, I've had additional diagnostic tests. Thankfully, we have a dear friend, a brilliant MD, who meets with us regularly to guide us through the massive amount of information that we're receiving. Thursday we will be meeting with a surgeon, and radiologist, and on the 23rd an oncologist.  After that I will have a good idea of the "Plan"

Meanwhile...I am still painting my "Painting A Day" as I have the time and these paintings will be offered for purchase on my Blog, on Facebook, and on Instagram as usual.  We also plan to run some "SPECIALS" for the purchase of existing inventory to make up for the times that I am not able to paint. STAY TUNED for these "SPECIALS".  Also I have cancelled (postponed!) my March classes.

We are sharing this information with the hopes that you'll be extra patient with us if your order is a little late or if our response time to you is not as quick as you are used to. 

On a positive note, you know I am generally healthy, very active (bike riding and exercising) and am hoping this helps me in the battle. AND I have a very strong Christian faith.  I am requesting some heavy duty prayers from each of you!  Thank you in advance for your PATIENCE, PRAYERS, CONCERNS, and KIND WISHES. I will do a blog update as I go along on this journey, updating you on my progress.

Saturday was breakfast at Idas Cafe with Woodruffs and Sunday was brunch at Rachels with Woodruffs and Linns. Overwhelming friend support which I will explain tomorrow.
