Merry Christmas, Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday!!

Today is Christmas but also my anniversary.
We are celebrating 32 years of wedded bliss!
We were married in our apartment with only a tiny
handful of family and friends.
This was our formal wedding photo!
Younger, thinner and more hair!!

4 years later, Christmas, 1 hour after midnight
(so it was actually 12/26/83) we had our daughter
Abbey. Born at home...Linda has this thing about
being home for all big events!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBEY!!

2011 Holiday Series #14 and #15

4" x 6" Original watercolor
Holiday Series #14 ~   SOLD

4" x 6" Original watercolor
Holiday Series #15  ~ $200.  Contact the Studio

Last one for the season!
Merry Christmas to all.

Tonight is our annual family Christmas dinner.
It started back in 1979 with us, my parents and Linda's
parents.  Because Linda worked retail at the time
(Donecker's) we started the tradition of eating out on
Christmas Eve.  In 1983 we added Abbey to the gathering.
Then we lost my Dad, added a great son-in-law, Ben
and now my Mom cannot venture out.  This year Abbey
and Ben are away so we are down to four of us.  Life
sure does change over the years.
Off to a great meal at the Lancaster Stockyard Inn.

Blessings to all my supporters.

2011 Holiday Series #13

4" x 6" Original watercolor ~ SOLD

I have had very little time to paint this week.
Monday we had a get together with our friends.
Tuesday we went to American Music Theater with
the family.  Abbey and Ben came home on Wednesday.
We had our family dinner last night and the kids left
for Ben's family time.  I worked on this one off and
on.  It was from the Hudson, NY area, the yellow door
with the greens just stood out.  My plan is to finish
one more Holiday and then move into a Winter series.

2011 Holiday Sereis #12

4"x 6" original watercolor...
$225.  ~ Contact the Studio

This was from my NY trip. The colors caught
my eye. The red ribbon against the blue in
the tiny vase.  Windows in need of fresh paint.

A few clients stopped in today to pick up some
gifts.  I am trying to be available this weekend
but you should call to make sure I am home.
I have a wide selection of original paintings and
prints and if you are not sure what to pick I have
gift certificates!  So add the studio to your holiday
shopping list.

Nice closeup of a boxwood wreath hanging

I guarantee these little paintings look even
better than in this photo!

Spent the day yesterday getting inspiration

2011 Holiday Series #9

4"x 6" original watercolor ~ SOLD!

This little gem is from our Hudson Valley, NY
sightseeing trip last week.
A very old wagon filled with greens.

We are celebrating the Holidays with my in-laws
by spending time with them.  Friday night we all
attended a live nativity.  Sunday night was the
Community Choir Christmas service and tomorrow
is a day at Longwood GardensI think Linda is
expecting to get some more photos here.  I think I will
run out of days before subjects!

Holiday Series #8

4"x 6" original watercolor... SOLD
$100.00 to the first person to email or
call...717-627-3383

This is a great way to build a holiday painting
collection at a great price.  They do not need to
be hung... prop them around the house, surround
yourself with paintings you love to look at.

We are off with my in-laws to see an outdoor
"Live Nativity".
It is getting a bit too cold for my taste!

Holiday Series #7

4"x 6" original watercolor
$275.  Contact the Studio
This is a very nice landscape with a hint of
holiday!

Linda and I had a very nice few days in the
NY Hudson Valley area.  We hand delivered a painting
to a good client and used that as an excuse to
sight see.   I hung my own painting on Ray's red wall
and it looked perfect there.  We enjoyed our evening with
them.  It is a privilege getting to know my clients.
After that we used the time to hunt for new subjects.
We did take a tour of the Vanderbilt Museum.
No photos allowed!  We stayed one night in an
18th century Dutch B&B call the Stone House in Hurley.
I recommend it!   I took 400 photos so I am excited to
get to them.  I am concentrating on Holiday themes
until Christmas.  Then moving into the dreaded Winter Series.
If you have snow shots that you think I might like, send them
to me.   I am now going to cut glass to fill the frame order
that is coming tomorrow.

Another Chester County piece.
No snow but it has a winter feel!
This was todays demo at the Hershey Show.
No blog for 2 days... we are headed to  Saugerties
NY to deliver a painting and do a little sight seeing.
Hunting for Holiday subjects!   I think our housesitter
is happy to have the kitties all to herself!

Holiday Series #4

5"x 5" original watercolor ~ SOLD

A poinsettia I found in the hallway at Mount Vernon in
Washington, DC from our Thanksgiving trip to see
Abbey & Ben.  Go ahead and forward my blog link to
any friends interested in Holiday paintings!
Help spread the word.  They look even better than on the
computer!

So this was to be  "a painting a day"  but it actually was
"a painting in two days"!  This morning we helped our friends
John and Bonnie take her Dads things to an auction house.
It is so sad to empty a house from a lifetime of living.
Her Dad needed to go to a nursing home.
If you know of anyone looking for a small starter house in
New Holland, PA they have one going on the market.
Next was a visit to my Mom, who was not in a good mood,
making the visit hard.  Then home to focus on painting.

Tomorrow I can be found at my last show of the season.
Christkindlmarkt ~ Dec 3 & 4

Held at the Hershey Story Museum
63 W. Chocolate Ave. Hershey, PA ~ 10am to 5pm
There is a discount coupon on the promoters website.

Holiday Mini Prints...

A warp speed day... 9am-noon was spent at Lancaster
Mennonite School demonstrating and talking about
an art career.  Then a quick stop at my Moms, she fell,
she is OK but I wanted to check in on her.  Home to change
vehicles and we were in Hershey by 2:00 for an early
show set up.  It is now almost 8pm and we just got home.
Very little time to paint!  So I am showing my Holiday
Prints.  Available framed at $35 each or 2 for $60.
I will ship them for you for $8.  According to my wife,
they make very nice hostess gifts over the holidays.
You can order them on my website or call me.
