Nova Scotia, Canada.  I needed a little change in what I have been painting.

Monday it was raining in NYC.  Linda stayed home, Ben went for a wet run and Abbey and I headed to the Met.  I listened to a podcast for background on the show before we left.  The Met was PACKED and it was hard to see the paintings but it was inspiring.  I am pretty excited to say I had not one but TWO Tesla Lyfts!  I’m begging for a Tesla but no one is listening!    We had tickets for a 9pm play at the SoHo Playhouse to see Hahahahah.  All audience participation, unusual but uplifting.  We all really liked it but it was definitely different.  

Leaving Tuesday morning, Linda is headed to the beach with the girls for a few days.  My plan is to get as many miles on my bike as I possibly can!

I was attracted to the light.

Saturday evening we took the train to NYC to spend some time with Abbey and Ben.  Sunday we went to Abbeys museum, Cooper Hewitt for a very interesting exhibit.  Lunch on a blanket in Central Park.  Then capped off our day with a fantastic concert at City Winery. This is a great place to see shows, we were 10’ from the stage,   Leonid and Friends.  Unbelievably good.

Meanwhile over the weekend we had some 150 year old cellar wall work done.  Pretty impressive it lasted that long.  There was some erosion behind the dry stacked huge stones causing a few feet long to push forward a few inches.About 2 feet deep wall, they don’t build them like that anymore!

I have a "thing" for fields.  They were plowing, planting and growing in this field.  I was intrigued with the patterns and colors.  This view was across the street from Hoovers Market outside of Lititz.  Linda was in getting veggies while I was getting inspired.

To keep my framing life simple I only offer a walnut or black wood frame.  If you buy my print unframed and take it to a frame shop you can really do special framing.  Here is a clients example of Heritage. They were picking up the feel of the stone in the frame...beautiful.

Peter Wentz Farmstead in Worcester, PA

Last Friday was set up for the Spring Heart of Lancaster Show. We had a double booth with 2 tents and a nasty forecast. Watercolors and prints just soak up the moisture and get wrinkly so I took half the stock back home and spread out what was there. Saturday was about what we expected and we stayed relatively dry. Today was spent drying out 2 tents and lots of tarps. Just extra work!

Saturday Show...

 I worked on a blog painting but did not get it finished in time to post.  I will post it on Sunday night.  I Spent the morning in the yard; mowed and trimmed, dug out an old plant for Linda.  Then packed the van for the show.  I have a double booth so that means extra stuff to pack.  Linda was in the garden for hours!  There are 3 heavy brown bags filled to the top to prove it!

It may rain on Saturday but we will be at the show!

The show I did on 5/4 posted a YouTube video. I am included towards the end! This guild has wonderful craftsman and while I am NOT showing in their fall show it is worth attending.


We had a special date night last Saturday. We went to the Hershey Theater to see Jon Batiste for his Streaming concert. Improv piano and oh what his fingers can do on a piano. He is so gifted;  excellent concert.

Updates:
We went dancing on Wednesday night. 7-10pm  If you like dancing to the oldies, 50's & 60's there is a DJ at Jimbo's Steaks (in the back is a hall, nothing fancy) in Reading, PA.   They have good food and limited drinks. $10 admission.  An older crowd who loves to dance and plenty of line dances (chacha), and he plays 2 slow songs in a row.  Everyone is very nice!  We try to go every Wednesday.

I did not get painting time in today.  Started my morning with a Hypertension Doctor appointment.  I finally have my blood pressure under control and he has passed me off to my family doc.  One less doctor to see.  Next was breakfast.  We got into the habit of having breakfast after my many doctor appointments.  A little treat.  We went to the Pancake Farm.   The next stop was our friends the Wardells, they have a bay tree they are giving to Linda.  I looked up and its 2pm.  Tonight we are having dinner at the Franklin House with friends the Hildebrands.

Our weekend: Friday I worked all day on my commission. We had a large supply order delivered and decided we would get a hotel so we did not have to get up so very early to drive to the show in the morning. Saturday we sat outside all day in the COLD and WET at the show. Barely covering expenses! Sunday I finished my commission, and my client is very happy! It is always a relief when my client is happy! Today I unpacked the suburban and took a load of frame moulding out to be joined. and painted this blog.
