Its Over...

 ITS OVER... two very busy weekends of my annual Open House are finished.
Now what went up, must come down.  Sunday after the show we took apart the studio because Monday morning we have mats to cut for orders!

Meanwhile, I have a fantastic offer if you could not attend.  We offered some older 8x10 mini originals, usually $225 for $200!  This offer will run till 12/24 then they go back to $225.

Its time...

Today (Thursday) the girls were cooking for 8 hours. Everything looks great.
The sign is up on the front porch,  fresh pumpkins are out, but I cannot promise the squirrels will not feast on them.  Little arrows on the sidewalk pointing to the door.

Friday the doors open promptly at 2PM! Hope to see you this weekend.

Prep Day...

Today was "prep day".  Linda and two friends spent hours prepping food for tomorrows "cook day". Chopping, grating, cutting followed by more chopping, grating, cutting.  They also laid out which dishes, baskets and boards to use.   I am in charge of the phone and working on my next commission.

I walked around our house with two pears looking for an interesting still life. Peeling painted cabinet to two juicy green pears and a soft patterned rug.

2 days till Open House!

We are down to 2 days. These are cooking days. Today we went on a hunt for ornamental cabbage because our mums were finished. This required 2 farm garden stops and finally Esbenshade's Greenhouse.
Linda got a haircut. 
We shopped at two stores for produce.
The housecleaner did a final clean.
Orders are coming in, keeping Linda busy.
Meanwhile I finished 2 small Christmas commissions.

Busy, busy, busy!

Busy, busy, busy!
I replaced lightbulbs with the latest variety of low watts but bright light.  I want you to be able to see all my fantastic paintings!  This required two trips to Home Depot.   I raked leaves.  Linda is flying around...better if I don't ask!  I know the paintings have new fresh labels.  Vases for flowers were laid out.  And the concentration is now on the hors d'oeuvres.

Thursdays Open House Update

 Open House Update:
Wednesday was a shopping day for non-perishable items.  Had to go to three stores looking for Athens Phyllo Shells!  Two stores for special cheeses.  The wine shop for reds and whites.  And we finished up with a stop at Lititz Olio for a special infused oil and balsamic.  The menu is looking good!

Thursday we had a little fun; breakfast with friends at Stone House Cafe. But we were back home and back to work by noon. Windows washed, porch swept, Studio furniture moved, panels set up, mini paintings hung and the sales area set up. A full days work! 


Remember I mentioned the squirrels... every beautiful pumpkin has been eaten and big holes to get the seeds...this pumpkin was NOT carved by me, it is totally the work of Mr. Squirrel, looks like he brought a blow torch to get in there! I think they invited ALL their friends from the park to visit Smiths house for a smorgasbord of pumpkins!

Open House Update

All the new Paintings are hung and labeled!


All framing is finished.  Basement is set up for any emergency framing during open house.  Email invites went out this morning.

I wanted to share a photo of a clients kitchen, ringed with my mini's.  There was 2 more walls!  She has a mix of originals and prints. First I have seen this type of display.  I am blessed!

Open House Update

 Open House Update:  Our beautiful pumpkins that WERE setting all around the house have been decimated by the squirrels.  I have a small stash of spare ones but it is the principal! This morning I finished my last painting for Open House.  The last of the mats were cut today.   And, we went to the wine store and a Costco run.  Tonight I have a little bit of glass to cut.

Meanwhile, there is daily mat cutting and framing going on.
AND I am still painting! 
Plan on spending the weekend in Historic Lititz.  We have great restaurants, shopping and  B&B's/hotels.
