Thursday check in...

Class, haircut, dinner and a bike ride.  No painting time.  So I will show you a larger painting I finished with my beginner classes.  If you go to the student blog and scroll down to week 2 you can see my students painting of the same subject.  They all did very well.

2019 Still Life #4

SOLD!       6x4” original watercolor     $225

A basket half in sunshine and half in shadow.

My Day:
I spent the afternoon chatting with artist Mike Shaw
about art, marketing, showing. He has a good following
in Cape Cod and wants to break out in Lancaster
County.  Feel free to check his website.  Good work.

This is my last week of classes so I will have a
bit more time to paint.  It looked so nice and
warm outside I was tempted to go for a bike ride
until I stuck my head out the door and realized
it was pretty cold.  So its riding rollers tonight
after class for me!

2019 Still Life #3

6x4” original watercolor    $225

This little still life was from Ireland.  Looks like
it can be from the 1800's anywhere in the US.

checking in...

We had a very nice weekend off. Saturday we spent most of the day at an antique auction.  I thought the bottom dropped out of antiques but you could not tell from these prices.  Original paint was bringing high prices.  We did manage to purchase three original Shaker boxes from Mt Lebanon.  I am very excited and plan to incorporate them into a painting.  Sunday morning was breakfast with our friends the Hildebrands and I managed an afternoon bike ride.  Today was my class at Luther Acres and took Linda shopping in the afternoon.  So there is no blog painting today BUT... I did finish this larger one.

2019 Winter #5

5x5” original watercolor   $225

I am fascinated with sunsets and sunrises.  I know this is
dark but for me it was a good challenge with colors
and the shadows across the landscape.

Busy week

I already have two shows under my belt for the start of the show season!  My March classes start today.  I  am teaching 14 lively seniors at Luther Acres on Monday mornings.  So for today with the snow I was up at 7am snow blowing before going to my class.  Then I am teaching at the studio Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays all month.   Friday is set up at my show in NJ.  I am telling you all this so you do not expect too much in the way of paintings this week!
